Gill Marine Salopettes

"Bought for coxing on a tidal river. Really great for waterproofing and keeping dry, as well as reducing the wind chill. Waterproof thigh pocket is great for keeping tools and phone in, and the middle chest post is great for hand warmth! Easily goes over all of my layers and lifejacket fits nicely over the top."

Well made, but so long

"These salopettes looked well made, but were far too long, I am afraid I had to return them, there just does not seem to be any that are made for women under 5 foot tall"

Great gear

"Perfect gear for the England's weather, sturdy quality, great design, looks excellent and does the job. Shipping was fast, delivered on time."

All the good things are there now!

"These are the third OS2 trousers that I have. I really like them because of the dropseat. The first ones did not have a pocket, but had the elastic band in the back around the waist. The second ones had a pocket, but not the elastic band or the velcro for tools. These ones have the dropseat, the pocket, the velcro, the elastic band. The elastic band works very well for me, as I'm too short for the size of the trousers and it keeps them in place. The whole fit looks very well. The new fabric seems to work very well, at least for now, I was under a quite strong shower the second day that I wore them and it was really water repellent. I hope it lasts. They are great!"

Quality sailing trousers in a

"Quality sailing trousers in a comfortable bib-style with a drop-seat. Went a size down for the best fit."

Mark K. (5/5)

Terrible design

"Brought these having had my previous pair for 20 years. One of the zips fell apart when I pulled it up, that aside, the design is awful. The clips at the shoulds feel flimsy and the need to cross the straps is asking for me to end up tieing myself in knots when the boat it healed over. Also, why two zips? It is hard enough going to the toilet in rough weather without attempting to do up two zips, each of which is under your arm. I can only conclude they were designed by a man or woman who doesn't sail."

Kerry H. (2/5)

Love the side zips

"These were a replacement for my previous trousers that I’d had for several years. I really loved the change to the side zips so that I don’t have to get completely undressed when “nipping” into the heads. My only wish is that you made this with shorter leg lengths. At only 1. 52m tall they are a bit too long. I can tape up the Velcro round my boots so I do t trip over them, but it does mean that the knee pads are on my shins! Having said that, they fit better than any of the other makes I have tried. That’s the only reason I took off a star in the review."

Barbara A. (4/5)

Too long

"Like every other manufacturer's salopettes, these are too long. When I saw that you make a range specifically for women I thought at last there would be some that would be short enough for my wife. No such luck. If you are serious about specific trousers for women, please make an option for shorter legs."

off shore trousers

"perfect for Scottish west coast sailing- very wind proof not bulky"

New waterproofs

"They look great. Fit well. Just need to test them out in the environment sometime!"
