Reducing our impact on the environment.

Founded by a desire for better - to explore further and inspire others to experience more - we have never stood still. Innovation and progress are at the heart of our brand, but we recognise that these ambitions come with a responsibility to minimise our impact on the environment.

As we continue to inspire the next generation of adventurers to push boundaries and challenge the norm, we are committed to continually improving the way we operate. The path towards true sustainability is a long-term journey, and we believe that businesses, suppliers and consumers all have a part to play in protecting the natural environment for future generations.

This Sustainability Policy sets out our commitment to reducing our environmental impact across our products, materials, packaging, manufacturing and supply chain.

Our Responsibility

We are committed to making our brand and operations as sustainable as possible and to continually reducing our environmental footprint.

We consider the environmental impact of every stage of our supply chain - from the products and materials we select, to where and how our products are manufactured, packaged and ultimately delivered to the consumer. We regularly review these areas to identify opportunities for meaningful improvement.

As a marine brand, we have a particularly strong connection to the natural environment. Healthy oceans, waterways, beaches and coastlines are fundamental to the activities and communities we serve. We therefore have a vested interest in helping to protect these environments from pollution, unnecessary waste and, in particular, plastic pollution.

Reducing Plastic and Packaging

We are continuously looking for practical ways to reduce the amount of plastic and unnecessary pacakaging used within our business.

Our initiatives include:

Using polybags that are 100% recyclable.
  • Removing polybags from smaller items such as gloves and headwear.
  • Reducing the amount of packaging used across our accessories.
  • Removing single-use plastics wherever practical alternatives are available.
  • Reducing the weight of our plastic bags by 50%.
  • Eliminating the supply of plastic hangers with our garments.
  • Using recycled paper or card for our packaging, catalogues, header cards and swing tickets.
  • Ensuring paper and card packaging materials are 100% recyclable wherever possible.

We will continue to review our packaging requirements and seek opportunities to reduce material consumption, eliminate unnecessary components and increase the use of recycled and recyclable alternatives.

Responsible Sourcing

Responsible sourcing is an important part of our approach to sustainability.

We introduced our Corporate Code of Conduct in 2015 and continue to work closely with our long-standing suppliers to promote safe, fair and responsible working conditions throughout our supply chain.

All suppliers are required to agree to and meet our specified standards. Compliance is monitored through regular on-site social audits, helping us identify areas for improvement and maintain appropriate standards throughout our supplier network.

We believe that strong, long-term relationships with our suppliers are essential to achieving meaningful environmental and social progress.

Fabric & Technologies

The materials used in our products represent an important opportunity to reduce our environmental impact.
Wherever technically and commercially possible, we aim to incorporate post-consumer recycled yarns into our fabrics and increase the use of recycled and renewable materials throughout our product ranges.

The majority of our styles now feature either recycled or renewable content, and all of our lining fabrics feature recycled content.

As materials and manufacturing technologies continue to develop, we will explore new opportunities to increase recycled and renewable content while maintaining the quality, durability, performance and functionality expected from our products.

Continuous Improvement

We recognise that sustainability is not a single achievement or destination. It requires ongoing evaluation, investment and improvement.

We are therefore committed to:
  • Regularly reviewing the environmental impact of our products, materials, packaging and operations.
  • Reducing unnecessary plastic and packaging wherever practicable.
  • Increasing the use of recycled, recyclable and renewable materials.
  • Working collaboratively with suppliers to improve environmental and social practices.
  • Maintaining responsible sourcing standards through our Corporate Code of Conduct and supplier auditing programme.
  • Exploring new materials, technologies and manufacturing processes that can reduce our environmental impact.
  • Protecting the oceans, waterways, beaches and coastlines that are central to our brand and community.
