Through our partnerships with sailing organisations such as the IOCA UK or GBR 420 Class Association we’re able to support key initiatives within sailing. These organisations play a vital role in providing accessible training and development opportunities for young, aspiring sailors across the country.

IOCA UK

The International Optimist Class Association (IOCA) UK organises events and training for sailors competing in the Optimist dinghy. Recognised as the pinnacle of junior sailing, many elite sailors, including Olympic champions begin their sailing journeys in an Optimist. The IOCA UK strives to encourage children to take up sailing in their local regions and supports those who go on to compete at national and international competitions. The association represents a vital platform for young sailors to learn to sail, race, and progress to high quality competition. Most importantly, it fosters a passion for the sport.

GBR 420 Class Association

The GBR 420 Class Association is the National Class of the International 420 Class in the UK, providing accessible regional training and racing opportunities throughout the country. A globally recognised performance two-person trapeze and spinnaker racing dinghy, the 420 is considered a natural progression for sailors moving on from the Optimist class. Sailing a 420 offers great development for sailors in the two-person disciplines. Providing sailors with an opportunity to hone their racing skills, learn valuable techniques in boat tuning and sail trimming, and develop crucial teamwork and communication skills. Most of the world’s best sailors on their path to Olympic and elite sailing success, have honed their skills in the 420 class.
